Dr. Boce Mitrevski was born on January 20, 1972, in Sasa, Municipality of Makedonska Kamenica. He graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Skopje (PMF) in 1998, where he also obtained his master's degree (2007) and PhD (2013). He was appointed Assistant Professor in 2013 and Associate Professor in 2018. Since 2023, he has served as a Full Professor at the PMF, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, teaching various courses in Physics education and General physics.
Dr. Mitrevski’s primary area of scientific interest is physics education - specifically, the teaching of physics and natural sciences in primary education and physics in secondary education. His research focuses on educational standards in natural sciences, constructivism in physics teaching, critical thinking, conceptual knowledge and conceptual change, conformity, question taxonomy, models and modeling in physics teaching, modern learning and teaching methods and techniques, transformation and transduction in physics teaching, metacognition and meta learning.
Dr. Mitrevski has published 12 scientific papers in international journals, 15 in conference proceedings, and over 40 publications in Macedonian language. He has presented more than 30 papers at conferences, comprising mostly oral presentations and five posters. He has participated in ten projects, four of which involved teacher training.
He has been actively involved in seven workshops supporting the professional development of primary and secondary school physics teachers, as well as primary school natural science teachers. He is the co-author of one science textbook and four manuals teacher, a reviewer of several textbooks and workbooks, and the co-author of five collections of physics problems books.
He has served as secretary and treasurer of the Society of Physicists of the Republic of Macedonia (DFRM) and as chair of the DFRM’s competition committee. Also, he served as president of the DFRM from 2015 to 2019. He is actively engaged in preparing gifted students for Olympiads and has led Macedonian Olympic teams at 14 International Olympiads. Through various activities organized by the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and the DFRM, he contributes to the popularization of physics, science in general, and education in the natural sciences and mathematics.
